Bongo Ideas Slams TikTok Influencer Afua Nash Over ‘GHC5,000-A-Day’ Lifestyle Claim

In a Facebook post on 12th October 2025, controversial social commentator Albert Nat Hyde, popularly known as Bongo Ideas, has taken aim at TikTok food influencer Afua Nash following her viral claim that she spends no less than GHC5,000 daily.

Afua Nash made the statement during an interview with blogger Zion Felix, where she also claimed to have purchased hair worth GHC12,000. Her remarks quickly went viral, sparking outrage among Ghanaians who questioned how she could sustain such lavish spending without any known high-income job.

In subsequent videos, Afua Nash hit back at critics, telling them to “shut up if they are poor” — a response that only intensified public backlash.

Weighing in on the controversy, Bongo Ideas mocked the influencer’s claims and criticized both her demeanor and the media’s attention toward her.

“I’ve seen videos of Afua Nash where she was asked how much she spends, and she said GHC5,000 a day. This is the same lady who eats in a bad habit like a nursery 2 teacher enjoying Our Day food with no supervision. She even said she bought hair for GHC12,000 and a whole lot more,” he wrote on Facebook.

He continued: “Afua, stop giving yourself pressure wai, even Moesha, who once said she won’t date a man without a car, is now dating Christ, so who are you rushing to impress? You that eats like you’re doing food practicals in front of your crush, relax small.”

Bongo Ideas further questioned her influence and credibility as a content creator, saying: “I don’t even know who you influence, I actually blame those who follow you and the brands that work with you. How do you call a lady who eats and doesn’t even look good to promote your products? She camps food in her mouth like she’s training for a food world cup, and you expect customers to take you serious?”

He also chastised bloggers for prioritizing sensational personalities over achievers: “And bloggers too, the lady who graduated as the best law student wasn’t interviewed, but when it comes to people who lie like an ex-president during elections, you rush with microphones.”

Afua Nash has yet to respond to Bongo Ideas’ comments.
