Young Apostles made it back-to-back victories in the Ghana Premier League after strolling to a 2-0 win over Basake Holy Stars at the Wenchi Park on Sunday.
Issah Hussein and Randy Abubakar scored at either side of the half to ensure the hosts collected all three points at home and move into the top four.
Following a quick start to the match by Young Apostles, Samuel Prempeh almost opened the scoring with a fine shot which missed by inches.
Moments later Issah Yakubu of Holy Stars went into the books of the referee after a nasty tackle. Halfway through the first half, Young Apostles won a corner kick which resulted in the opener after Hussein rose high to head home.
The hosts went into the break with the lead but returned from the break even stronger as they piled on pressure on Holy Stars.
Abubakar, Young Apostles’ captain, was the orchestra as the hosts kept pushing for a second.
He efforts was crowned with a goal after he scored from a spectacular drive to double the advantage in the 67th minute.
Despite efforts from the visitors, Young Apostles maintained their advantage, going on to seal the win.
