Suspects Solomon Opoku and Collins Aboagye have confessed to the murder of Kofi Mensah
The Ashanti South Regional Police Command has apprehended two suspects in connection with the brutal robbery and murder of 20-year-old Kofi Mensah at Tweapease-Aboo, a community in the Obuasi Municipality.
The suspects, identified as Solomon Opoku and Collins Aboagye, were arrested following intelligence-led operations by the police.
The incident came to light on October 6, 2025, when the Assembly Member for Tweapease-Aboo reported to the Bediem District Police Command that Kofi Mensah had been attacked, killed, and his Haojin motorbike stolen.
Acting on the report, police launched a manhunt, leading to the arrest of Solomon Opoku on October 10, 2025, at Council Quarters in Obuasi.
Court convicts former police officer for false pretense
According to the police, Opoku was apprehended while attempting to sell the stolen motorbike.
Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of his accomplice, Collins Aboagye, at Kokotesua, a suburb of Obuasi.
The police successfully recovered the stolen motorbike.

Police say both suspects have confessed to the crime, are currently in custody and are scheduled to appear before a court on Monday, October 13, 2025.
