Ghana head coach Otto Addo is receiving praise from all corners after leading the Black Stars to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Deservedly so, the Germany-trained tactician has made history with the national team in style, with statistics proving his tactical prowess and silencing his critics.
Addo took charge of the Black Stars for a second stint in March 2024 at a time when the team had played two matches in the qualifiers already, winning one and losing one.
With eight games to play in the qualifiers, there was a lot to do to ensure Ghana earned the right to play at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Coach Otto Addo accepted the responsibility, knowing that it would be tough. With a careful plan, the tactician has managed to weather the storm, to qualify the Black Stars for the mundial against all odds.
In the eight qualification matches, Addo led the Black Stars to seven impressive wins, dropping just two points in one drawn match.
During that run, the Black Stars scored an astonishing 22 goals and conceded just five times.

With a win percentage of 87.5, Otto Addo has achieved what many doubted and described as impossible, taking Ghana to back-to-back World Cups.
He is the only coach in history to take the Black Stars to the World Cup on multiple occasions, and the only former Black Stars player to take Ghana to the World Cup as a coach two times.
While there is more work to be done, the mind-blowing statistics behind Coach Otto Addo’s World Cup qualification justify the praise he is receiving.
