Empress Gifty pays a courtesy call on Mahama after winning 2025 GMAUS Artiste of the Year

Ghanaian gospel star Empress Gifty Adorye has paid a courtesy call on President John Dramani Mahama at the Jubilee House.

Her visit comes after she was crowned Artiste of the Year at the 6th edition of the Ghana Music Awards USA, held on Saturday, 16th August 2025, at ACX1 Studios in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The award-winning singer also took home Gospel Song of the Year, making it a double triumph on the night.

Speaking on the United Showbiz show on Accra-based UTV, Empress Gifty said she and her team visited the President to show him the awards she won in 2025.

She revealed that she was accompanied by her husband, Mr Hopeson Adorye, and other members of her Management Team.

According to her, she dedicated all seven awards she received in 2025 to President John Dramani Mahama.

Expressing her excitement about how she was warmly welcomed to the Jubilee House, Express Gifty thanked the President for his kind gesture, promising to work harder to produce more songs that will shape the attitudes of people in the country.

She further revealed that she seized the opportunity to urge President Mahama to construct an auditorium where gospel artistes can perform their shows.

She added that the President said plans are far advanced for the construction of a new fifteen-thousand-capacity auditorium for the entertainment industry.

“I paid a courtesy call on President Mahama at the Jubilee House, where dedicated all the seven awards I have won in 2025 to him. I complained about the lack of venue for gospel artists to host their shows, and he promised that his government will build a fifteen-thousand-capacity auditorium for us,” she said.
