Tickets for Ghana’s crucial 2026 World Cup qualifier against Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium have sold out in record time, hours ahead of the 7pm kickoff.
The National Sports Authority (NSA) earlier announced that 35,000 tickets were made available for the final round Group I encounter, after sections of the stadium that were previously closed were reopened for use. All tickets have now been snapped up, with long queues forming at sales centres across the capital early in the day.
Fans eager to witness the Black Stars seal qualification turned up in their numbers, reflecting the growing anticipation surrounding the game. Ghana need just a point to confirm their place at the next stage of the qualifiers, although even a narrow defeat could still see them through due to their superior goal difference.
The Accra Sports Stadium is expected to be packed to capacity under the floodlights as Otto Addo’s men aim to complete the job against Comoros and extend their perfect home record in the qualifiers.
Ghana are chasing a fifth appearance at the FIFA World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico in 2026.
