News Hub Creator20h
Ghana will experience widespread cloudy and rainy weather today as atmospheric disturbances sweep across the middle and transition belts. The Ghana Meteorological Agency reports that a rainstorm observed over these areas early this morning is expected to induce cloudiness and thunderstorms across much of the country. Additionally, another weak storm system over the Gulf of Guinea will trigger rain and misty conditions along the coast and inland zones. As the day unfolds, intermittent sunshine may break through the clouds in some areas, but thunderstorms and rain are likely to persist in several parts, especially by afternoon and evening. Below is a breakdown of the weather forecast shared by the agency according to the zones in the country.
Coastal Zone
Cities along the coast such as Accra, Cape Coast, Takoradi, and Aflao are expected to start the day with rain probabilities of up to 60%. The afternoon and evening will see thunderstorms and cloudy intervals, with temperatures ranging between 26°C and 29°C. Misty patches over the coastline may also reduce visibility during the early hours.
Middle and Transition Zones
Kumasi, Koforidua, Goaso, and Techiman will experience thunderstorms and rainfall through most of the day. Conditions will remain humid with brief periods of sunshine in the afternoon. Temperatures will peak around 31°C before dropping slightly by evening. The Ghana Meteorological Agency warns of potential visibility reduction over hilly and forested areas due to mist.
Northern Zone
The northern cities including Tamale, Bolgatanga, and Wa will see a mix of cloudy skies and sunny intervals. However, localized thunderstorms are expected later in the day. Temperatures will rise to about 33°C before dropping to around 27°C by evening.
The state of the sea remains rough, and mariners are advised to exercise caution while navigating Ghanaian waters. Stay alert, stay safe! Thanks for your time.
