Jazz legend Marsalis, JLCO in Ghana; set to perform at +233 Jazz Bar & Grill

Renowned American trumpeter Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra (JLCO) are set to perform in Ghana this October in what promises to be a remarkable blend of culture, history, and musical excellence.

As part of their tour, JLCO will also host workshops for music students and emerging professionals in the music business to create valuable knowledge exchange and mentorship opportunities.

The visit will culminate with two live performances at the +233 Jazz Bar & Grill on Friday, October 10, and Saturday, October 11, 2025.

This visit marks more than just a concert series; it’s a cultural and historical journey celebrating the shared heritage between Africa and the African diaspora through the universal language of Jazz.

Wynton Marsalis has earned nine GRAMMY Awards, over forty honorary degrees, the National Medal of Arts, and the National Humanities Medal.

He is the first Jazz musician to win a Pulitzer Prize, receiving it in 1997 for Blood on the Fields, and remains the only artist to win GRAMMYs in both jazz and classical categories in the same year.

This historic event not only underscores Ghana’s growing reputation as a hub for global music experiences but also highlights the enduring power of music to connect people, cultures, and generations.
