In a post on his official X account on October 3, 2025, the minister revealed a 3D visualization of the outline design for the long-awaited $3 Billion Kumasi Inner Ring Road improvement project, signaling the commencement of a major transformation for the city.
“I know you’ve been yearning to catch a glimpse of how the $3 billion Kumasi Inner Ring Road improvement project will transform Oseikrom… Well, the wait is over! Here’s a 3D Visualization of the Outline Design—and trust me, it’s only a taste of what’s coming for Asanteman!” the minister wrote.

The new Inner Ring Road project is part of a broader infrastructure push in the region, which Dr Forson confirmed would also include: The Suame Interchange and Local Roads, Sunyani Road (Phase 2), the Konongo Bypass, and the imminent start of the 45km Kumasi Outer Ring Road.
Beyond the road network expansion, the minister hinted of a significant fiscal achievement that will directly benefit Kumasi’s social and economic infrastructure.
Dr Forson confirmed that the recently signed Bilateral Debt Restructuring Agreement with the United Kingdom has successfully reinstated financing for two other critical projects:
• The Modernisation of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH)
• The Redevelopment and Modernisation of Kumasi Central Market
Ghana, Japan sign $23 million grant facilities for road, health projects
According to him, the ability to resume these key projects underscores government’s commitment to prioritising essential services and economic centers despite challenging fiscal conditions.
“The future of Kumasi is unfolding before our eyes—and it looks bold, modern, and unstoppable!” Dr Forson wrote in his post.
The combination of massive road network upgrades and the revival of critical social infrastructure is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion, improve public health services, and boost local commerce for millions in the Ashanti Region.
