Leicester manager Marti Cifuentes hails Fatawu Issahaku’s remarkable return to form – Ghana Latest Football News, Live Scores, Results

Leicester City manager Marti Cifuentes has expressed his delight with Fatawu Issahaku’s impressive start to the season following a challenging spell last term.

The Ghanaian winger scored his third goal of the campaign on Saturday, inspiring Leicester City to a 3-1 comeback victory over Swansea City. It was another spectacular strike, consistent with his fine scoring form this season.

Issahaku’s resurgence has been remarkable, especially after an anterior cruciate ligament injury sidelined him for several months last season as the Foxes suffered relegation from the Premier League. Now fully fit, he has been instrumental in Leicester’s strong start, with the club currently sitting third on the Championship table, signalling their intent to return to the top flight.

“I’m so happy with him after a tough period last season with injury,” Cifuentes told Leicester’s media team. “We had to take care of him when I arrived, but he’s doing so well now. He’s very committed and a fantastic player for us. If we want him to shine as he’s doing, we need to make sure the whole team functions well, so everyone contributes.”

Issahaku has now registered four goal contributions, three goals and one assist, in nine Championship appearances this season.
