Residents of Old Abirem in the Eastern Region are living in fear following the discovery of skeletal remains at the residence of Emmanuel Kofi, leader of the Jesus Power Church.

The update was shared on the Facebook page of Crime Check TV on Friday, October 3, 2025.

“The skeletal remains of an unidentified person have been shockingly discovered at the residence of Emmanuel Kofi, leader of the Jesus Power Church at Old Abirem in the Birim North District of the Eastern Region,” the post read.

According to the details of the information shared online, the body could not be easily identified because it was already in an advanced state of decomposition.

“The identification of the body was made difficult as it was said to be in a severe state of decomposition,” it added.

Fred Gyampo, Assembly Member of the Old Abirem Electoral Area, disclosed that a young man reported the discovery following what he described as a spiritual revelation.

“The young man recounting his experience, claimed that it was through a spiritual encounter that he was directed to the location of the body”, it noted.

Following the discovery, some angry residents reportedly set fire to Emmanuel Kofi’s church.

Meanwhile, the police have launched investigations to the case.
