The Ghana Education Service (GES) has placed Charles Akwasi Aidoo, the Assistant Headmaster of KNUST Senior High School, on suspension following the release of a disturbing video involving him and a female student. The footage quickly spread across social media platforms, causing widespread public concern and prompting swift intervention from education officials.
Daniel Boamah-Duku, a former Assistant Headmaster at the school and a close friend of Aidoo, spoke to Yerepa TV on October 1, 2025, sharing his surprise over Aidoo’s actions. Known affectionately as “Stonebwoy,” Aidoo’s involvement with the student shocked Boamah-Duku, who claimed the young woman is well-known on campus for problematic behavior.
According to Boamah-Duku, the student had previously faced disciplinary action and was expelled from the school’s boarding facility due to misconduct. He also alleged that she uses drugs, specifically marijuana, and now attends the school as a day student.
“No one, regardless of their position, should exploit students. The law prohibits mistreatment of children, and even if a student approaches you, engaging with them is unacceptable. We need divine intervention in this situation,” Boamah-Duku said. He expressed his disbelief that Aidoo would associate with the student given her past disciplinary issues.
In a statement issued on September 29, 2025, the Ghana Education Service confirmed the immediate suspension of Aidoo, barring him from accessing school grounds while investigations proceed. The GES stressed that the decision was aimed at protecting students and ensuring the school environment remains safe and reputable.
“The Ghana Education Service is committed to maintaining the highest levels of professionalism, discipline, and child protection in all educational institutions. We condemn any conduct that threatens the safety, dignity, or well-being of students,” the statement read.
The Service assured the public that it would carry out a thorough investigation and apply appropriate disciplinary measures in accordance with established regulations. It reiterated its firm stance against any form of misconduct within the teaching profession.
