The leadership of The Architecture Alliance (TAA), a civil society think tank, has held a constructive meeting with the Architects Registration Council (ARC) to explore opportunities for collaboration in advancing architecture’s role in Ghana’s national development.
The meeting, held on Monday, September 29, focused on areas such as professional recognition, capacity-building, and regulatory support. TAA reaffirmed its commitment to complementing the work of established institutions while amplifying innovative practices and diverse voices within the architectural community.
Key proposals included partnership on Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programmes, mentorship initiatives for young professionals, and joint action to curb unlicensed practice.
The Alliance also raised advocacy issues such as reforms to legislation, design competition standards, and the need for inclusivity and stronger oversight in professional representation.

Both parties underscored the importance of transparency, structured dialogue, and aligning with international best practices.
The engagement marks an important step in positioning The Architecture Alliance as a credible partner in advancing sustainability, equity, and innovation in Ghana’s built environment.
TAA expressed its readiness to build on this momentum through continuous collaboration with ARC and other stakeholders to ensure architecture contributes meaningfully to social impact and nation-building.
