Vincent Adotey is the Teshie District Police Commander
Teshie District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Vincent Adotey, has claimed that the majority of people living in Teshie are engaging in drugs.
In a video shared on X on October 1, 2025, Chief Superintendent Vincent Adotey, while addressing members of the Teshie community, noted that, per research conducted by his outfit, about 98% of individuals living in the district are into drug abuse.
“Teshie has been noted as one of the highest in the country where people abuse drugs. All kinds of drugs are found here. We have been peddled openly. I will challenge the chiefs to start joining us in this fight.
“My personal survey that I have seen in Teshie is that when you put 100% down, about 98% are into drugs. The youth are taking a large number, and some of the elderly people too are wearing black lipsticks,” he said.

The police chief also cautioned the youth and elders to refrain from drug abuse.
According to him, due to the recorded cases of drug abuse, the community has become unsafe for individuals to move freely at night.
“Please, you have to begin to mount platforms and talk against drug abuse. The unnecessary assaults and battery fighting here and there will be a cause.
“People are breaking into people’s houses to steal their property. Every day we have theft cases. Today, Uber cannot come to Teshie because the thieves would snatch their phones,” he added.
