Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, has announced that the government will increase the producer price of cocoa to GHS 3,625 per bag or GHS 58,000 per tonne, starting Friday, October 3, 2025.
According to the minister, the new price represents an increase of GHS 400 per bag, equal to a 12.27 percent rise over the price announced in August.

Speaking at an engagement in Accra on Thursday, October 2, 2025, Dr. Forson said margins, fees, and rates for all other stakeholders, including COCOBOD, remain unchanged.
He added that COCOBOD will continue to support farmers by providing free fertilizers, insecticides, spraying machines, fungicides, and flower inducers to boost production.
The Finance Minister further disclosed that COCOBOD is preparing to launch a Tertiary Education Scholarship Scheme for children of cocoa farmers in the 2026/27 academic year.
