Ghana will participate in the 2025 Global Open Government Partnership (OGP) Summit scheduled to take place in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain, from October 7 to 9.

The Summit is expected to draw Heads of State, senior government officials, civil society leaders, and international partners to exchange experiences, share best practices, and review progress on open governance reforms and the implementation of National Action Plans.

Ghana’s delegation will be led by Lydia Lamisi Akanvariba, Member of Parliament and Minister of State in charge of Public Sector Reforms, alongside Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, Deputy Chief of Staff (Administration).

Other participants will include Members of Parliament, key sector ministers, government officials, and civil society leaders.

According to the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Ghana Office, operating under the Public Sector Reform Secretariat, this diverse delegation “reflects Ghana’s unwavering commitment to the principles of Transparency, Accountability, Citizen’s Participation and Innovation in governance.”

The Secretariat further reaffirmed the government’s determination to strengthen trust in public institutions through reforms that deliver tangible benefits for citizens.

“The Public Sector Reform Secretariat and the OGP Ghana Office reaffirm government’s dedication to advancing governance reforms that foster trust among public institutions and promote sustainable development for all,” the statement noted.

The 2025 Summit will offer Ghana the opportunity to showcase progress in governance reforms while learning from global counterparts on innovative ways to deepen democratic accountability.
