The internet has been flooded with comments reacting to the recent announcement of an enhanced DStv packages to subscribers.
The Minister of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George, has announced that DStv subscribers in Ghana will enjoy between 33% and 50% more value on their subscriptions from Wednesday, October 1, 2025, following an agreement between the Ministry and MultiChoice Africa.

From Price Cuts to Value: Sam George shifts focus on DStv subscriptions
In a Vox Pop conducted by GhanaWeb TV on September 30, 2025, many customers expressed concerns about the value proposition, particularly regarding price adjustments.
“We love football and sports, so we’ll stick with DStv, but their prices are too high. DStv needs to address this issue, not just Sam George. You can’t charge less in other countries and more in Ghana. I’ve seen lower prices in Liberia, Sierra Leone, and other African nations. We are all on the same continent and watch the same content. Apart from sports, most people aren’t fond of DStv. For this new package, they need to reconsider the pricing,” a man who gave his name as Divine said.
“I’ve been using DStv for over two years, but not anymore. I switched to the Fire TV Stick. What they need to do is increase the availability of decoders, as most Ghanaians already have them at home, and decrease the subscription fees so that Ghanaians can actually afford to buy these packages. Otherwise, they stand to lose customers,” Owusu-Ansah added.
