Some social media users have slammed the KNUST SHS headteacher for the act
Following the removal of Charles Akwasi Aidoo, Assistant Headteacher at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Senior High School (KNUST SHS), over alleged fondling of a female student, social media users have expressed strong reactions to the development.
Aidoo was asked to step aside pending investigation after a video, which showed him allegedly fondling a female student, went viral.
In a statement issued by the Ghana Education Service (GES) on September 29, 2025, the school’s management emphasised that it had taken the matter seriously and acted swiftly to safeguard the integrity of the teaching profession and ensure the welfare of students.

According to the statement, Aidoo has been prohibited from accessing the school premises while a thorough investigation into the allegations is underway.
The Service explained that the measure was necessary to maintain a safe and secure environment for students and to uphold the credibility of the institution.
“The GES remains committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and child protection in all our schools. We strongly condemn any acts that compromise the well-being of students,” the statement said.
In response to the incident, many social media users are now calling for further action, including the sacking of the headteacher.
“So now what will he tell his wife if he is having [one] as at now?” A user by the name Asante Moro Abass asked.
“Totally shameful. I wonder what his wife and children will feel after this episode,” Eric Mensah also wrote.
“Eii, but how did he end up in this?” another user, Nana Kwame Tawiah, quizzed.
Meanwhile, GhanaWeb’s efforts to obtain a response from the Service have so far been unsuccessful.
