Manhyia Brafoɔ during the procession on the second day of the funeral rites of the late Asantehemaa
The chief executioner at the Manhyia Palace (Manhyia Brafoɔ) has issued a strong warning to residents of Kumasi ahead of the burial of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
Speaking during the procession on the second day of the funeral rites, Tuesday, September 16, 2025, the Manhyia Brafoɔ reiterated a warning against nighttime movement on Thursday, September 18, 2025, the day the late Asantehemaa would be buried.
The executioner said that any person who flouts the curfew on Thursday night would have himself or herself to blame.

“I’m saying that on Thursday (evening), if you say Asanteman belongs to you, step out and let’s see. I will show you that Asanteman has a lord.
“Those of you who have no respect and are saying Asanteman belongs to you, come out and let’s see,” he said in the Twi dialect.
“We are not joking. We’re not bragging. It is an order. We are saying that on Thursday, stay indoors. If you say you are a man, get out and let us see,” he added.
Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II announced the death of the Asantehemaa on August 11, 2025.
Asantehemaa’s Burial: Freemasons show solidarity with Otumfuo
Born Nana Ama Konadu, Nana Konadu Yiadom III was the 14th Asantehemaa.
She is the biological sister of the current Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. She became the Asantehemaa in 2017, following the death of her mother, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II, the then Asantehemaa.
Nana Konadu Yiadom, the second most powerful person in Asanteman, was respected for her loyalty, counsel, strength, and devotion to tradition.
The four-day funeral of the late queen mother started on Monday, September 15, 2025, and would end with her burial on Thursday, September 18, 2025.
