The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has announced plans to roll out a new digital platform in 2026 that will allow vehicle owners to reserve their preferred registration numbers online before completing the registration process.
The initiative, dubbed “DVLA SELECT,” is part of ongoing efforts by the Authority to enhance customer convenience and streamline vehicle registration services.
In a statement issued on September 8, 2025, the DVLA said the upcoming platform will enable clients to “choose and reserve their preferred vehicle registration numbers online” ahead of visiting a DVLA office for final processing.
The Authority noted that additional details regarding the platform’s usage, access, and implementation timeline will be communicated to the general public in due course.
