Asutifi North MP renovates 8 boreholes to ease water crisis

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Asutifi North in the Ahafo Region, Dr. Ebenezer Kwaku Addo, has renovated eight boreholes in rural communities within the constituency to address persistent water shortages.

Speaking to Adom News, Dr. Addo said residents of Yawbrefo, Camp, Asamang, Pobikrom, Panaaba, Ensonyameye, and Gyastech had endured nearly a year without reliable access to potable water because their boreholes had broken down.

According to him, community members often spent 20 to 25 minutes pumping just to fill a single bucket, a struggle he described as unacceptable.

“The situation was worrying, and I felt the need to step in so that the people, especially the farmers, can have access to safe drinking water without going through such struggles,” Dr. Addo explained.

Some residents expressed their gratitude, noting that the intervention has brought relief after almost a year of difficulties. They recalled that both the district assembly and the former MP under the NPP-led government failed to respond to their appeals, leaving them frustrated.
