Amidst the manhunt by the Ghana Police Service for suspects behind the robbery of a gold buying shop on Saturday, a CCTV footage has emerged showing the moment a gang stormed the gold dealership shop at Mpohor to carry out their operation.

In the video sighted by GhanaWeb, the gang numbering about four men wielding gun and machetes are seen forcibly entering the shop and ordering individuals in the shop to lie down amidst assault.

The gang then goes ahead to ransack the shop before making away with their loot.

On Sunday, August 17, 2025, the Ghana Police Service announced the arrest of one individual in connection with the robbery.

According to a police statement, the suspects who are still being pursued injured one person during the act and made away with an unspecified amount of money.

“The Western Regional Police command is on the manhunt for a gang of armed robbers who attacked a gold buying shop and robbed them of an unspecified amount of money and injured one person in the Mpohor District in the Western Region on Saturday 16/08/25.

“One suspect has been picked and is assisting in the investigation, whilst strenuous efforts are underway to arrest the remaining suspects. The injured victim is responding to treatment,” the statement said.
