‘Why Was He There?’ – Asamoah Questions Samuel Sarpong’s Presence on Fatal Helicopter Flight Crash

Former Member of Parliament for Ofinso South, Mr. Ofosu Asamoah, has raised questions about the presence of Dr. Samuel Sarpong on the ill-fated helicopter that crashed on August 6, leading to the death of all eight people on board as per reports from Ghana Web.

In an exclusive interview, Asamoah expressed confusion over the circumstances surrounding Sarpong’s involvement in the flight. “Why was Dr. Sarpong on that aircraft?”

Asamoah queried, noting that while the other victims held official positions, Sarpong’s role in the incident was unclear.

“It is important to understand why he was there. Was he on official duty, or was there another reason?”

Among the other victims were high-profile government officials, including Minister of Defence Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Minister of Environment, Science, and Technology Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, and Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator,

Alhaji Limuna Mohammed Muniru. Also onboard were military personnel Squadron Leader Peter Baafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manaen Twum Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.

The tragic crash claimed the lives of these distinguished individuals, leaving their families and colleagues in mourning.

However, Asamoah’s remarks highlight the public’s desire for clarity regarding Sarpong’s role in the ill-fated flight.

The eight individuals who perished in the tragedy have been laid to rest, but the inquiries into the details surrounding the flight are still ongoing.
