Adwoa Smart is a popular veteran Ghanaian actress
Veteran Ghanaian actress, Belinda Naa Ode Oku, popularly known as Adwoa Smart, has shared details of how she entered into acting through the help of screen legend, Grace Omaboe, widely known as Maame Dokono.
Speaking in an interview with Adom FM, Adwoa Smart stated that she was initially a trader at the Kaneshie Market after dropping out of school to fend for herself and her family.
“I didn’t want to depend on anyone, so, I was hustling at the market. I sold anything and everything, and I had a steady flow of customers,” she recounted.

According to her, her life changed when a lady who admired her introduced her to Maame Dokono.
“When Maame Dokono saw me, she was quite skeptical, but she asked me to dance for her. Like an audition, I did it, and she seemed satisfied.
“She introduced me to the performing arts and also gave me a job at her drinking spot as a waitress. We would go for shoots during the day, and at night, I worked at her place,” Adwoa Smart narrated.
She went on to feature in popular productions such as Obra, Efiewura, and Bongo Bar, which eventually cemented her career in Ghana’s entertainment industry.
