Takoradi, Aug. 12, GNA – The Ghana National Gas Company Limited has announced that it would shutdown the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant for scheduled maintenance works.
The maintenance works, to be undertaken with approval from the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition, would begin from August 16 to August 30, 2025.
A statement signed by Mr Richmond Rockson, Spokesperson and Head Of Communication at the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition, said the exercise was part of government’s commitment to ensuring the continued safe and reliable operation of the plant.
It said during this period, the plant would undergo critical maintenance activities designed to enhance its operational efficiency and overall performance.
These activities include inspections, repairs, and upgrades to key equipment and systems, the statement said.
It noted that Ghana Gas would temporarily suspend the supply of gas within the stated period to facilitate this essential maintenance.
The statement said the Ministry, in collaboration with key power sector players had put in place comprehensive measures to mitigate any potential impact on power supply during the maintenance period.
“These measures include the strategic deployment of alternative fuel sources to ensure a stable and uninterrupted electricity supply across the country,” it said.
The statement reaffirmed the Ministry’s unwavering commitment to maintaining reliable power supply at all times, saying; “We will keep the public informed by providing regular updates on the progress of the ongoing maintenance.”
