Ghanaian media personality Blessed Godsbarin Smart, aka Captain Smart, has distanced himself from some allegations made by Ayisha Modi, which he is privy to.
During the August 5 episode of his morning show on Onua TV, Captain Smart cleared the air as the damining allegations by Ayisha Modi continue to gain widespread attention.
According to Ayisha Modi, Daddy Lumba slapped his partner Odo Broni in public while on a trip to London.
“Daddy slapped the girl (Odo Broni) in front of about 50 people because he didn’t like the colour of their accommodation when they got to London,” Ayisha Modi said.
Ayisha Modi claimed to be on the trip and witnessed the unfortunate incident.
The controversial self-styled music executive also claimed that Daddy Lumba performed traditional marital rites with Odo Broni, contrary to reports that they never officially married.
Ayisha Modi said that Captain Smart was a witness to the marital ceremony. She shared the unconfirmed stories
According to Captain Smart, he has never witnessed any ceremony involving Daddy Lumba and Odo Broni. He also established that he had never been to London with Daddy Lumba.
“I have never sat in a plane with Lumba to London or anywhere before. It’s a lie,” Captain Smart clarified.
The journalist said he had flown to London only three times, and all those instances he went with President Kuffour.
Ayisha Modi made her claims against Lumba in support of her bereaved second wife, Odo Broni.
The viral sensation is believed to have an unfriendly past with the late highlife singer.
In 2020, she claimed that she bought $800 worth of medications for Daddy Lumba, but the singer’s manager released a statement to deny the claim.
Lumba’s first and second wives speak
Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Akosua Serwaa and Odo Broni, the two known wives of Daddy Lumba, had opened up about the tension between them after the musician’s death.
Daddy Lumba’s manager, Roman Fada, stirred further controversy when he introduced Akosua Serwaa as Lumba’s first wife and Odo Broni as Mrs Fosu during a family event.
The two wives in a video established that there was no bad blood between them and called on Ghanaians to stop stoking controversy around the family.
