Accra Hearts of Oak got their pre-season friendly match campaign off to a flying start with a commanding 7-1 win over Mamprobi Afa at the Kpobiman training complex on Saturday morning.
The game was structured into three halves of 40 minutes each, giving both technical teams ample opportunity to assess their players and try out various tactical setups.
From the onset, the Phobians stamped their authority on the game with confident passing, sharp movement, and purposeful attacking play. Their early dominance resulted in two well-taken goals before Mamprobi Afa managed to respond with a goal of their own, ending the first session 2-1 in favour of Hearts.
The second half saw the Phobians shift into a higher gear, completely controlling the game and adding four more goals. Assistant Coach Abdul Gazale could be seen actively guiding the players from the touchline, while Head Coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani observed closely, offering strategic directives from the bench.
The final session was a more competitive affair, with both teams displaying flashes of brilliance and testing each other across the pitch. However, the Phobians sealed the performance with a final goal, much to the delight of the fans present, who were clearly enjoying the new tactical identity being implemented by Coach Didi.
The match ended in a comprehensive 7-1 victory for Hearts of Oak, a solid statement as the team begins its preparations for the upcoming season.
Speaking after the game, Coach Didi shared his thoughts with Hearts TV:
“I’m very encouraged by what I saw today. The players are beginning to understand the principles we are introducing. It’s just the start, and there’s still work to be done, but the attitude and commitment were excellent.”
The Phobians will continue with their pre-season schedule in the coming days as they build towards a strong 2025/26 campaign.
