Kennedy Agyapong Drops Secret Behind Why He No Longer Criticizes Mahama or NDC

According to a report by Ghana base, Ghanaian politician Kennedy Agyapong has finally revealed why he has chosen to stay silent on issues concerning former President John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

In an interview with Pan African Television, the former Assin Central Member of Parliament explained that although he sees mistakes in the Mahama government, he has decided not to criticize them anymore.

According to Agyapong, he was once very vocal against Mahama and the NDC, and his own party (the New Patriotic Party – NPP) supported him at the time. However, things changed when he decided to contest for the NPP’s flagbearer position.

“During my campaign, my own party brought out something they called the ‘Ten Sins of Kennedy Agyapong,’” he revealed. “They used my own words against me — words I said while defending NPP and criticizing NDC.

That’s why I apologized to Mahama, because he has always treated me kindly. I was harsh on him back then, but it was all for the party.”

He added that his criticisms, which were once praised, became tools used to damage his image when he wanted to lead the party. To protect himself from further attacks, Kennedy Agyapong said he will no longer speak on NDC matters.

“In the Bible, there are Ten Commandments. Since Abraham’s time, nobody has added an eleventh. My party gave me ten sins already, and I won’t let them add more. Whether the country is broke or not, we all dey inside,” he said.

Kennedy Agyapong’s comments have sparked reactions, with many seeing it as a sign of deep division within the NPP after the 2024 flagbearer race.
