NPP launches campaign, unveils Asumadu as candidate

Hundreds of party faithfuls of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have currently gathered at the Boadua Presbyterian Church in the Denkyembour District of the Eastern Region for the Akwatia Constituency Delegates Conference and the official campaign launch of Solomon Kwame Asumadu, who has been selected to represent the party in the upcoming by-election.

The conference, which is under the theme: ” Winning together in honour of Hon. Ernest Yaw Kumi,” has brought together stalwarts of the party including the Member of Parliament for Akuapem North Constituency Sammy Awuku, former MP for Akwatia Mercy Adu Gyamfi popularly known as Ama Sey, the National Youth Organizer of the party Henry Nana Boakye, Regional Party Chairman Jeff Konadu and his executives.

According to the leadership of the party, the campaign launch and the delegates conference are a testament to the unity existing in the party in their quest to keep hold of the parliamentary seat just to honour the memory of the late MP Ernest Yaw Kumi.

In addition, the choice of Solomon Kwame Asumadu, popularly known as ‘Owuo,’ to lead the party according to leadership was arrived at following extensive consultation with all stakeholders, including members of the party who strongly believe ‘Owuo’ is the ideal person to continue the legacy of the late MP.

Various speakers who addressed the gathering urged them not to be complacent but rather go all out, door to door and campaign rigorously for the chosen candidate to win the by-election scheduled for Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
