Nii Latse II sues King Teiko Tsuru II, National House of Chiefs

Nii Latse II (L) wants the name of Nii Tsuru II removed from the Register of Chiefs as Ga Mantse Nii Latse II (L) wants the name of Nii Tsuru II removed from the Register of Chiefs as Ga Mantse

It seems the feud over the Ga Mantse stool has not ended, as Nii Tackie Adama Latse II has once again sued the current occupant of the stool, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, as well as the National House of Chiefs.

The suit comes after the Supreme Court reversed the ruling of the Kumasi High Court and the Court of Appeal in Kumasi, which ordered the National House of Chiefs to restore the name of Nii Tackie Adama Latse II to its National Register as Ga Mantse.

In his latest suit, which was filed at the Kumasi High Court on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, Nii Latse II, through his lawyer, argued that his name was unlawfully removed from the records of the National House of Chiefs as Ga Mantse.

He is, therefore, asking the court to order the reinstatement of his name to the records.

He also asked the court to order the removal of the name of Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II as Ga Mantse.

Below are the full reliefs he is seeking:

– A declaration that the expungement or removal of the name of the Plaintiff from the National Register of Chiefs by the 2nd Defendant herein was unlawful, arbitrary, and contrary to natural justice.

– A declaration that the entry of the name of the 1st Defendant herein, KELVIN TACKIE ABIA a.k.a. NII TACKIE TEIKO TSURU II, by the 2nd Defendant herein onto the National Register of Chiefs and/or the Chieftaincy Bulletin as Ga Mantse is wrongful, unlawful, and illegitimate.

– An order directed at the 2nd Defendant to expunge the name and all other particulars of the 1st Defendant herein from the National Register of Chiefs and/or the Chieftaincy Bulletin.

– An order directed at the 2nd Defendant to restore the name of the Plaintiff herein onto the National Register of Chiefs as the Ga Mantse.

– Costs, including legal fees.

– Any other order or orders that the court may deem fit.
