The Ministry of Health has confirmed the successful processing of salaries for 321 Pharmacist House Officers who completed their housemanship in 2024.

In a statement dated July 29, 2025, the Ministry described the development as a significant step toward resolving longstanding financial obligations within the health sector.

The Ministry also acknowledged growing concerns among the 2024 batch of Rotation Nurses and Allied Health Interns, who began their rotations in May 2024 and completed in May 2025 but have yet to receive their salaries.

Officials say efforts are underway, in collaboration with relevant government agencies, to expedite the clearance process and ensure that all outstanding payments are released without further delay.

“This effort reflects the Ministry’s broader commitment to resolving salary arrears across all health worker categories to ensure that every qualified professional is properly remunerated to boost their morale to deliver essential healthcare services to Ghanaians,” the statement said.

According to the Ministry, the delay in payments was due to the previous government’s failure to secure the necessary financial clearance before the interns were deployed.

The Ministry assured the affected interns that their concerns are being treated with urgency and that steps are being taken to establish a more sustainable system to prevent future delays in salary payments.
