The Sunyani Area of the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo) has successfully recovered GH₵14 million in outstanding debts from customers following a revenue mobilisation and loss control exercise.
The Area Manager, Eugene Odoi Addo, who disclosed this to the media in Sunyani on Saturday, July 27, stated that the two-week exercise aimed to recover a total of GH₵20 million in unpaid electricity bills.
He described the operation as a success, noting that the revenue mobilisation and loss control team had managed to retrieve significant arrears from defaulting customers.
Mr. Addo explained that the exercise forms part of NEDCo’s broader strategy to improve its financial standing and minimise power losses, emphasising that the company would continue to apply pressure to customers who fail to make payments.
He also urged all customers to pay their bills regularly and on time to ensure an uninterrupted power supply and to support the company’s service delivery.
Looking ahead, Mr. Addo revealed that NEDCo plans to undertake a similar exercise before the end of the year as part of its ongoing efforts to boost operational efficiency.
