I Will Speak The Truth; Members Of The Judiciary Don’t Like The Chief Justice

The Chairman of the New Patriotic Party NPP Annual Delegates Conference Planning committee, Mr Joseph Osei Owusu has finally added his voice on the ongoing tag-of-war between Justice Gertrude Torkornoo and the government following her suspension. There have been several petitions to the President, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama to remove the Chief Justice, Gertrude Torkornoo and replace her with another person.

Speaking in an interview on GhOne today, 21st July, 2025, Mr. Joseph Osei Owusu is of the view that the members of the Judiciary are not interested in Justice Gertrude Torkornoo. He made it clear that, they don’t just like her. GhOne TV presenter then asked him to explain by what he means that the members of the Judiciary don’t like Justice Gertrude Torkornoo.

According to Mr. Joseph Osei Owusu, the silence of the members of the Judiciary over the pending removal of Gertrude Torkornoo is a clear example that the members of Judiciary do not like her. He added that, when the voices of the people speak for you, it is a clear evidence that they like you. On the other hand, when they are silent, it is a message that they are interested about what is going on and what is happening. Hence, the silence of the members of the Judiciary over the issues involving Getrude Torkornoo is a clear indication that they do not like her.
