‘Mend the cracks to win 2028’ – Boakye-Danquah tells NPP

Dr. Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, a member of the communications team for Kennedy Agyapong’s flagbearer campaign, has called for unity within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to enhance the party’s chances of winning the 2028 elections.

Speaking on Channel One TV’s The Big Issue with Selorm Adonoo on Saturday, July 19, Dr. Boakye-Danquah emphasised the need to resolve internal divisions and address the concerns of dissatisfied party members.

He noted that fostering cohesion and restoring confidence among the grassroots would be crucial in positioning the NPP for electoral success.

“I really pray that we will be able to clean up what we have done over the years. I really pray that we mend those cracks within the shortest possible time so that we can be a good alternative for the Ghanaian people come 2028,” he said.

His comments follow the over 5,500 delegates from across the country who are attending the NPP’s National Delegates Conference on Saturday, July 19, at the University of Ghana Stadium in Accra, which comes at a critical moment as the party seeks to regroup and reposition itself following its defeat in the 2024 general elections.

Themed “Rebuilding Together with our Values,” the conference underscores the party’s commitment to introspection, unity, and reaffirming its founding principles.

Chairman of the Planning Committee, Joseph Osei Owusu, revealed in an interview with Channel One News that the conference will deliberate on and vote on over 50 consolidated motions. These were drawn from more than 300 proposed amendments submitted to the party’s Amendments Committee after a comprehensive review.
