Member of the Ashanti Regional Communications Team of NPP, Victor Osei-Poku
A member of the Ashanti Regional Communications Team of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Victor Osei-Poku, has warned that the party risks defeat in the 2028 general elections if it replaces Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as its flagbearer.
According to him, Dr Bawumia remains the most viable candidate to lead the party to victory.
The former Communications Officer for the Nsuta Kwamang Beposo constituency believes Dr Bawumia is the NPP’s best chance of regaining power.
Speaking to OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng on Monday, July 14, 2025, Osei-Poku emphasised the need for a more marketable candidate, given the high stakes of the 2028 polls.
He noted that Dr Bawumia has already gained significant momentum with the electorate, warning that replacing him would be disastrous for the party.
He therefore appealed to party members to ensure that Dr Bawumia is retained as the party’s flagbearer to secure victory in the upcoming elections.
