Samuel Duku, MTN Ghana’s Technical Manager, has announced that the company will soon start penalising customers who fail to repay their Mobile Money loans.
He stated that loan defaulters will be blocked from accessing loans from any financial institution. Although it’s unclear exactly how MTN plans to enforce this, Duku noted that the company has access to subscriber information through the nationwide SIM registration exercise carried out some years ago.
