Mahama has returned with vision and determination

The Founder and General Overseer of Action Chapel International, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, has voiced strong confidence in President John Dramani Mahama’s capacity to offer credible and transformational leadership during his tenure.

Speaking during an interview on The Point of View on Channel One TV with Bernard Avle on Monday, July 7, Archbishop Duncan-Williams commended President Mahama’s renewed sense of purpose, describing him as both a visionary and a selfless leader.

He emphasised that the President’s return to office is grounded in experience and a clear resolve to learn from the past and chart a more impactful course for Ghana’s development.

“When you look at some of the crises on our continent, it just doesn’t make sense. I don’t want to mention names of countries, but it just doesn’t make sense for us to retrogress with all that we have. And this country and continent have had some great leaders, and still do in certain areas,” he said.

“And there’s no reason why this continent and our country, Ghana, must not thrive and flourish. There’s no reason why our currency cannot do better. With the gold reserves we have and the oil and cocoa, we can do better.”

He continued, “We just need visionary leaders and selfless leaders. And I believe that President John Dramani is a visionary leader, a selfless leader, because he has been here before. He has learned from his past mistakes, and he has come back with a drive and passion and a determination to correct the mistakes of the past and make a difference and to go down in history as one who walked and came back with a difference.”

The Archbishop’s endorsement comes at a time when the country is focused on inclusive governance, economic stability, and renewed faith in political leadership. His comments add to the national discourse around leadership accountability and the expectations of the current administration.
