The Ministry of Sports and Recreation has stated that prominent dancehall artist Shatta Wale was not compensated for his appearance at the 2025 President’s Cup, and that he voluntarily funded all production costs for his show at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Shatta Wale provided the performance “pro bono in honour of the President and the Ghanaian people,” according to a Ministry statement, and accepted full responsibility for expenses linked to dancers, costumes, rehearsals, and stage production.
