A lecturer at Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State, identified as Mr. Ehigie, has been caught in a scandalous situation after being discovered inside the matrimonial bedroom of a married female student. The incident, which has since gone viral on social media, has drawn sharp criticism from the public and renewed calls for tighter regulation of relationships between lecturers and students in tertiary institutions.

According to reports, the husband of the student returned home unexpectedly and was stunned to find the lecturer in a compromising position with his wife, who had given birth only two months ago. The shocking scene unfolded in their matrimonial home, sparking outrage among neighbors and members of the local community.

Eyewitnesses claim that Mr. Ehigie was lured to the house under the pretext of providing academic assistance, particularly concerning the student’s performance in her Statistics course. Allegations have since emerged suggesting that the lecturer may have been engaging in manipulative tactics, promising improved grades in exchange for sexual favors.

A viral video circulating online shows the lecturer being humiliated by the enraged husband and other residents. In the video, he is seen stripped of his dignity as he is whipped with a belt and recorded before being driven out of the house. The disturbing footage has triggered intense debate about professional ethics, abuse of power, and the protection of vulnerable students within academic environments.

Officials from Auchi Polytechnic are yet to release an official statement, but sources close to the administration confirm that an internal investigation has been launched. Many advocacy groups have also called on the school’s management and the Ministry of Education to take swift action to protect students from exploitation and ensure that lecturers uphold the highest standards of professionalism.
