Ghanaian musician Cina Soul (Christie Quincyna Quarcoopome) has filed a formal complaint against Kumawood actor Big Akwes following threatening remarks made during a July 1 television interview on Bryt TV.

The actor described how he would “kill” the singer using supernatural and violent methods while playing a “Kiss-Marry-Kill” game segment.

In a widely circulated clip, Big Akwes stated he would use a “magic mirror” to spiritually summon Cina Soul, repeatedly stab her, and drink her blood. The singer responded on social media, tagging the Ghana Police Service and Ministry of Communications: “I feel genuinely threatened… We must not normalize hate.” She described being “deeply unsettled” by the comments, which prompted public condemnation of both the actor and broadcaster.

This incident follows Big Akwes’ April 2025 criticism of Cina Soul’s attire during an album promotion, where he body-shamed her on Accra-based Max TV. The station later apologized and removed the segment. Cina Soul had previously lamented the focus on her clothing rather than her music.

Bryt TV has not commented on whether the recent segment violated broadcasting standards. The Ghana Police Service confirms receiving the report and is investigating the threats.
