Social media is awash with excitement, memes, and a range of reactions following the rollout of newly revised data bundles by Ghana’s major telecommunications providers.

The popular phrase “Dzata is cooking!” has taken over X as Ghanaians express their views on what many see as a significant step towards more affordable data access.

The buzz follows an announcement made on June 10, 2025, by the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George, indicating that telecom companies would increase data allocations effective Tuesday July 1, 2025.

Checks by GhanaWeb Business at 9:00 AM show that AT and Telecel have both increased data volumes by 10% across all packages, while MTN Ghana has implemented a 15% increase.

Among the notable adjustments, AT’s GH¢400 package now offers 236GB, up from 195GB, while Telecel has raised its GH¢400 bundle to 250GB, a substantial increase from the previous 190GB.

Ghanaians have taken to social media to share their excitement, with many commending the sector minister for his efforts in pushing for better value from telecom operators.

Despite the positive reception, some netizens have raised concerns about network stability, noting that “Dzata” still has work to do in expanding coverage.
