Parliament defies Minority concerns to confirm Supreme Court appointees

The Minority raised concerns over the process, citing constitutional irregularities and the ongoing suspension of the Chief Justice

Ghana’s Parliament has approved all seven nominees to the Supreme Court put forward by President John Dramani Mahama, despite vocal objections from the Minority caucus.

The confirmation followed a heated debate in Parliament on Tuesday (25 June) culminating in a voice vote that secured the Majority’s backing for the appointments.
