Newly-Wedded Couple Die in Fatal Crash on Wedding Night in Tamale

A tragic accident on Sunday night, June 22, claimed the lives of a newly-wedded couple just hours after they tied the knot in a joyful ceremony in Tamale

The heartbreaking incident occurred at approximately 11:00 PM on the Gurugu road, as the couple were returning from the groom’s family house to his rented apartment on a motorcycle. The bride reportedly died on the spot while the groom died later at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.

Eyewitness accounts and family sources indicate that the wedding was celebrated earlier that same day, with friends and family in high spirits. A man claiming to be the groom’s brother, who spoke to this reporter, described the day as one filled with happiness and laughter. He revealed that the groom had been searching for a life partner for some time and was overjoyed to finally have found love.

Sadly, the celebration turned into mourning within hours as the couple met their untimely death as some foreigners riding unregistered car lost control and crash the couple to death.

The bodies were transported and deposited at the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) morgue around 2:50 AM on Monday, June 23.
