Ghanaian Media personality Bridget Otoo
Ghanaian media personality Bridget Otoo has strongly criticised the leadership of the Ghana Boxing Association (GBA) following comments made regarding Sharaf Mahama’s recent boxing event, Battle of the Beasts.
The GBA had claimed it received a letter from the British Boxing Board of Control raising some dire concerns about the June 13, 2025, event held at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra.
But in response, Bridget Otoo has taken to X on June 19 to condemn the GBA’s actions, describing the leadership as “draped in envy and anger.”
She accused the association of unnecessarily going public with concerns that, in her view, should have been addressed privately.
“Only Ghana boxing authority has seen the so called letter and if it exists, they should have responded with the contempt that letter deserves!!
“The impudence to interfere!!! But then again, leadership draped in envy, anger and jealousy would not see beyond its nose,” she said.
Bridget further argued that the GBA could have handled the matter discreetly by inviting Sharaf Mahama for a private discussion, rather than escalating it in the media.
“If GBA meant well, they could have invited Sharaf behind the scenes and explain things to him. (however unnecessary).
“From what I know and have read that young man is respectful, humble, and open but someone wanted to show their krakye powers,” she added.
Meanwhile, the GBA is yet to issue any official clarification on the alleged letter or respond directly to Bridget Otoo’s comments.
