The Member of Parliament for Effia, Isaac Boamah Nyarko, has called on supporters of the various flagbearer hopefuls within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to remain decorous and respectful in their campaigns.
Speaking on Citi Eyewitness News on Thursday, June 19, the MP emphasised that maintaining unity and discipline within the party is crucial as it prepares for internal elections.
He urged supporters to focus on promoting the strengths and visions of their preferred candidates rather than attacking opponents, stressing that the goal should be to win the hearts and minds of the broader Ghanaian public.
“It is about the people. Let the message go down into the minds of the people. Let the people believe why you are the best to lead, and when they are convinced, it doesn’t matter, at the end of the day, how many people are voting, 200,000, how many voted in the last election? Millions. So we are only a small fraction making a determination.
“The bigger picture is the people down there as Ghanaians. It is important that we raise the standard and raise the bar beyond the little group, whether they are five here or seven there. All we need to do is go wherever you think you want, but let us be decorous in our speeches and let’s sell our candidates,” he said.
