Popular Ghanaian media personality Okatakyie Afrifa, host of For The Records, has exposed US-based journalist Kevin Taylor of posting a fake picture of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the former Vice President of Ghana. He exposed Kevin Taylor on Saturday, 14th June, 2025.
Kevin Taylor recently shared a picture on his official Facebook page, claiming it showed Dr Bawumia sitting in his living room with an expensive bottle of whisky on the table. In his post, Taylor suggested that Bawumia might have been drinking the exotic whisky. The post quickly went viral and sparked conversations on social media.
However, Okatakyie Afrifa has strongly denied the authenticity of the photo. According to him, the picture was edited by Kevin Taylor to deceive the public. He urged Ghanaians to zoom into the picture and take a closer look, saying it clearly shows signs of editing. He believes the image was manipulated to create a false impression about the former Vice President.
“This is not right. Kevin Taylor edited that photo. If you zoom in well, you’ll see that it is fake,” Afrifa said on his show.
The controversy began after Kevin Taylor made a bold statement on Facebook on June 13, 2025. In his post, he criticized the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), calling Bawumia incompetent. He also stated that it should not be a big issue if Bawumia enjoys whisky at home. Taylor ended his post by saying life is short and invited Bawumia to meet him in Washington D.C. to enjoy a drink together.
Kevin Taylor is known for his hard-hitting journalism. He is the host of “With All Due Respect” and often targets government officials and institutions. Although his work promotes transparency, this new development raises questions about the accuracy of his reports.
