It’s not always easy to get excited about movies. Even as we get knee-deep into the summer season, which is chock-full of IP-driven studio fare, there seems to be a malaise that’s setting in towards moviegoing. Whether that has more to do with the current state of affairs across the globe, general disinterest, or too many other distractions, the reality is that modern audiences just don’t go gaga for cinema the way they used to.
