After his controversial exit from the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hopeson Adorye has embarked on a new political and personal journey that has reshaped his public image. Once a loyal member of the NPP and a key voice within its communication ranks, Adorye was expelled from the party in November 2023 for openly supporting Alan Kyerematen’s independent presidential bid under the Movement for Change. He later confirmed the expulsion, stating boldly that not even “$100 million” could convince him to return to the NPP.

Following his departure, Adorye has become a leading figure in the Movement for Change, aligning closely with Kyerematen’s vision to break the NPP-NDC duopoly. He has since used radio platforms to criticize the NPP’s handling of the 2024 elections, even mocking their “Thank You” tour as a “Tantrum Tour.” In 2025, he stated that he would quit politics entirely if the NPP ever scored more than 28% in any future election, showing clear confidence in the changing political landscape.

Aside from his political reinvention, Adorye has also faced legal challenges. In May 2024, he was arrested and later granted bail over a false publication charge after claiming dynamite was used in the Volta Region during the 2016 elections. Despite the controversy, he described the experience as strengthening and has reportedly embraced a new spiritual path, with reports indicating he has become a born-again Christian.

Hopeson Adorye’s post-NPP life reflects a blend of defiance, reinvention, and transformation. From fiery critic to reform advocate, his journey continues to influence conversations about Ghana’s political future.
