A middle-aged woman was caught shoplifting at Makola Market
A middle-aged woman was caught shoplifting at Makola Market in Accra, according to a report on X.
On Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 9:21 am, eyewitnesses, who were mainly market vendors, noticed the woman’s suspicious behaviour and subsequently exposed her.
As news spread through the market, other traders and bystanders joined in confronting her.
She was publicly shamed with the market women hooting and calling her names as they followed her into the street.
The woman was eventually handed over to the police by the market women for further investigation.
Videos of the incident have since gone viral, sparking massive curiosity among netizens about the woman’s motives, particularly given that Makola Market is a busy commercial area where such acts are easily noticed and quickly exposed.
