A man bearing a striking resemblance to the late former President of Ghana, Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings, has gone viral after images of him surfaced online, sparking public curiosity and speculation.
In a recent interview circulating on social media, the gentleman, whose name is yet to be disclosed, addressed the growing rumors linking him directly to the Rawlings family. He firmly stated that although he shares similar facial features with the late statesman, he has never met JJ Rawlings in person and has no biological or personal ties to him.
“I admire him just like every Ghanaian does, but I’m not related to him. I have never met him before he died,” he clarified.
His statement comes amid ongoing public fascination, with many drawing comparisons between their physical appearance and mannerisms. The lookalike, however, stressed that the attention, while unexpected, is purely coincidental and that people should not read too much into it.
This is not the first time Ghanaians have seen celebrity lookalikes trend online. In recent years, several local personalities have gained attention for resembling musicians, actors, and political figures.
While many are entertained by these resemblances, the Rawlings doppelgänger has urged the public to respect the legacy of the late President and not misrepresent the facts surrounding their similarities.
